60 (Epic Quests, Episodes 1-3) > Good Tank

Episode 1

1️⃣ Speak with the Assistant Recruiter in Klick'Anon, then speak with the Recruiter.

2️⃣ You are sent to Palidan Talimas in Thedruk (NE). You can find him N/E across the river from The Druk tunnel, at the bottom of a hill beside a tree. To find Palidan Talimas, head East from Teth to the river; as soon as you cross the bridge, follow the river south. Talimus is on the other side of the 3rd hill you come to.

Talimas requires 2 crystals off Takesir Miners, located in The Great Waste (W). This part of the quest cannot be soloed easily, as they are level 60, varying from melees to casters.

3️⃣ The Coldwind Guard of Halas has asked for assistance: Goblin invasion armies are currently attacking the Treants in Guardian Forest (W) and (NW). They must be stopped before the Treants are defeated, as Halas will be their next target. You need to slay the goblins to protect both the Treants and the Coldwind Guard of Halas. Loot two Enchanted Warbeads from Goblin Soothsayers and Assassins.

4️⃣ Return to Palidan Talimas with the beads. You are sent deep into Guk to speak with the Froglok Herbalist. The herbalist is at the bottom, past two bridges, just to the right of the latter one. See Map.

He asks for 3 ingredients:

  • Spotted tongue: Frogluk Channelers/Forgers
  • Swamp water: Frogluk Channelers/Forgers
  • Mycanoid spores: Fungal Cavaliers/Hunters

Talking to the Herbalist with your ingredients will initiate an event in which you must protect the herbalist. Every five minutes, 2 mobs will spawn — this will occur for 3 rounds. In other words, you will see the first 2 mobs every fifteen minutes. This will last for about an hour.

The order in which they spawn is:

  • Two Watchmen
  • Two Guardsmen
  • A Lookout and a Scout

Their cons:

  • Watchmen: dark blue
  • Guardsmen: white
  • Lookout/Scout: yellow/red respectively

Eventually, Bouncers will spawn — they con red and are very difficult. They are NOT to be underestimated! ⚠️

During the chaos, the herbman will give you a teleportation shard and will later port you to Guk (S), where a human spawns. Upon speaking to him, he will give you a potion.

NOTE: If the herbman dies while you are making potions, you will have to wait until someone else triggers the event. Since the popups have an Area of Effect, your quest will still be advanced if you have the necessary items in your inventory.

Return to Paladin Talimas.

Episode 2

Speak to Paladin Talimus (Thedruke NE). He sends you to FP to stop some bandits. They spawn just outside the North entrance by the signpost on the road. Be sure to have 200 tunar on you. When they spawn, be sure to get two pop-ups that they have stolen 100 tunar from you twice (they don't aggro). Kill the named bandit and loot the coin purse. Return to Paladin Talimus.

Paladin Talimus sends you to Diren Hold to speak to Jakai and learn about justice (fort on top of the mountain). Jakai sends you in search of 3 items — 2 swords and a ring. All items are obtained from the chests at the siren camps. Farm keys to open chests. If you farm a key that doesn't open the chests, don't delete it; it will open a chest at another location.

  • Ring — Vastly Deep (E)
  • Sword — West Toxx (SW)
  • Sword — Kerra Isle (SW)

NOTE: While in sirens, kill the Plagued Siren and loot its gland. You'll need this later to debuff "An Ancient Corpse".

Each camp contains eight mobs — two sets of four — with a treasure chest located (blank con) in the middle of each set. Farming the sirens will yield an NTL key. Farm sirens until you have all 3 waterlogged keys (if you go to loot one and it says you already have it in your inventory, then it is the same waterlogged key as you already have; keep farming until you have all 3 waterlogged keys in your inventory).

Once you have all 3 keys, try the keys at each different Siren Camp to open the chests.

Return to Jakai with all three items.

Jakai sends you to pass judgment on Calidux at Qeynos Prison (bottom of the main building). Speak to Calidux and he tells you his version of things and about an undead menace. He gives you a choice to either find a toxic gland for a debuff potion or to simply slay the beast. If you choose to find the gland, it drops off a rare spawn (Plagued Siren) in Kerra Isle (SW). Return to Calidux with it.

Highly recommend getting this debuff potion

If you chose to slay him, you can still obtain the debuff potion by farming the gland and returning it to Calidux.

The undead menace is a mob named "An Ancient Corpse" and is located in Basher's Enclave (N). This mob is on a trigger and despawns after about 20 minutes if not engaged. You can re-trigger him by returning to Calidux and choosing "I failed he's nowhere in sight". He respawns in about a half hour. Debuffed, this mob still resists most nukes, so it is better to have petters. Tank, healer, and several petters take him out with no problem. This mob was about as easy as Graal the Leviathan. Buffed, this mob will require a raid party. He drops 4 NTL items. Loot and return to Calidux.

Calidux then proceeds to whip your ass! He is easily 1-grouped (don't try to solo; he doesn't do much damage, but when he casts his pet you are toast). He drops 2 NTL items. Loot and return to Jakai for 30 Mil XP and 10K tunar. You will return to Jakai for Episode 3.

Episode 3

After talking to Jakai, she tells you to speak with Shinlos and follow his instructions, and you find out your character is prejudiced.

Shinlos is right outside of the North Gate of Freeport. Walk out the gate, follow the outside wall west, and go straight until you see him. If you get to the giant mountain range, you just passed him. If you get to the highwaymen, you're way off.

Only one person can speak to him at a time, so if he isn't around, someone is doing this part of the quest.

When you talk to him, he tells you to go off and wait in the distance by some palm trees. To get there, run NW until you see two palm trees fairly close to each other. If you are at the right trees, you will get a pop-up telling you to stay there. If you don't get the pop-up, keep looking until you do. If you cross the trail/road, you've gone too far.

This part involves no fighting, so you can come alone. After 15 minutes of waiting by the tree, an NPC will start screaming for help. Talk to her and she'll tell you her little brother is missing and will die or something if you don't help. Say no to every request for help or you will fail the quest. After a while she'll say "He is dead" and leave. Wait about 15 minutes for the next event.

Next, a treasure chest will spawn and you'll get a pop-up asking if you want to open it — say no. Once the treasure chest disappears, wait 15 more minutes for the next event. Finally, a demon will spawn and ask you to kill him. If he doesn't talk to you, you MUST move closer to it. He says he won't fight back and that he has "great loot" — say no once again to everything he asks. Eventually he'll float away and you must wait another 15 minutes before getting another pop-up. Once you get the pop-up, run back to Shinlos and talk to him.

This part is kind of hard. You must go to Cape Dreg and rescue Shinlos' sister. There are many islands with indigo pirates; you are looking for the island with the giant ship docked in front, leading into a cave. For this part, it is recommended you bring about 15–20 people, or as many raging rhinos as you can. Going into the cave, there will be a section of the floor you can fall into — do it, and you'll land in the room where you should get a pop-up saying it seems like someone is hiding in here. Then 5 or 6 things will spawn and attack.

Wave Order: 1st wave: Spirits of Syndar's — weak against PR/DR (from what casters said) 2nd wave: Syndar manifestations — weak against CR (from what casters said) 3rd wave: Spirits of Syndar's — weak against FR (from what casters said) 4th wave: Syndar manifestations — weak against PR/DR (from what casters said) 5th wave: Syndar incantations (unknown weakness)

They range from dark blue to yellow and don't hit very hard on tanks, but have tons of HP. You must hurry and kill them as quickly as possible because you have started a timer that cannot be stopped. Whether or not they're dead, another wave of 5 or 6 will spawn, harder than the first wave. Repeat until Synder of the Indigo spawns. This guy is bad — with 4k AC he quads for 1k and nukes. MT him; with rhinos he won't be much problem.

Gokukicks says: Synder debuffs your FR by 125 and has an FR-based proc, so his quads are very high once he debuffs you. Overmax your FR by 125 and he's easy to tank.

Once he is dead, collect his loot, TALK TO HIS GHOST (spawns in the cubby under the ramp; the ghost despawns quickly), and go talk to Shinlos.

Note: If you think you've gotten all the popups, looted the necklace, and the ghost won't talk to you, back out of the cubby and roam around the room for another popup. This happened to Jori recently; Synder was killed, she looted the item, ghost wouldn't talk to her, but she backed up into the room and got a popup (apparently she'd missed one), spoke to the ghost, and completed the quest.

You're done. Epidipidoulos (or whatever) is by the lake near the Shon-To monastery outside of Moradhim. When you first talk to him, he'll ask if you're ready to reset your TP and CMS. You have to do this in order to pick your spells, so be ready. Then he'll give you an option of 3 spells — two similar to the one you picked at 49, and a new spell. Once you pick, he'll tell you to speak with Prodiga (or similar) in Klik Anon. The person is right next to the recruiter and will give you your weapon.
